Fake Out

I haven't been posting much, but I have been having a lot of fun taking pictures with my Nikon D50, and recently I bought a fancy lens that my dad let me try out on his new D200. His camera is way better than mine, but I can barely understand all the features on my camera, so I'm not entirely green with envy. To be honest, before I bought my Nikon, I had been wanting to get into the Holga/ Polaroid/ low-tech camera movement that is going on with hipsters across the globe- but the geeky, technology loving side of me wanted the option to live in the future world at the same time... the world where you never have to worry about running out of film, and where you can instantly know for certain whether you got the shot before getting your envelope back from Rite Aid. So I made my choice, and chose the future... but here are some attempts I made to capture the same look of world I left behind on my way to the future...

You know I love geeky camera tech... what lens did you get? Those are all really nice shots! The one of the HAWT artist is particularly dreamy! :P Is the gradient done with a filter?
