Mega Dilemma

Here is the full version of the teaser I posted the other day... I've been working on completing my submission for this year's I Am 8-Bit show. My original plan was to make pseudo-Golden Book pages (images that look like children's book illustrations + text that evokes a similar feeling). Now that I've finished a couple of the parts of my piece, I'm not sure whether or not it needs any text. One friend said he thinks minimal text would add to the children's book feeling. Another said he thinks it's too much, and that the images will be stronger if left without text. Yet another friend suggested that I take the original text from the game and use that as text for the images. What do you think?

hmmm... perhaps in very small italic lowercase, so that it works on one level from far away, and on another when ya get close up and can read the text?

text strengthens the story and guides the reader if it is non-redundant to the visual (i.e. The Little Prince), heavy on dialog, thoughts, things that are better said than drawn.

although the Little Prince does do some describing, it isn't too much. I love the picture!

I don't think you need any text elizabeth, it's charming as it is, and leaves it open for more interpretation. i always knew megaman was into marshmellos!!!
that's just my two cents and some spare change!

I like the idea of text. it would finish the reference and take the scene to that new place of being like a Golden Book. nice work

I like the idea of minimal text that suggests it's a page out of a larger (missing) story. When I see a page like that, out of its full context, it always seems so profound. Then I'm kind of disappointed when I see the whole story, because it's not as complex as what that single page conjured up in my subconscious.

I think using the text from the original game would be neat. :) (Especially considering the context of the show...)
